This image was taken after I took Lonesome Traveler shot that I published on Tuesday. The Tuesday shot was the first time I think I have ever published the plane I have flown in an image. Usually I never get a clear shot of the plane so it never happens. This time, because I went to a different gate area I managed a shot of the plane I was going to fly.
I really like the skies in this image. I was a bit worried that my flight was going be delayed because as I was being driven to the airport lightening was streaking in the sky and they tend to not let planes fly when there is lightening. I have been on a plane that has been hit. We were coming into Amsterdam and I saw a bright flash off the wing and then the pilot came on explaining said bright flash was indeed lightening striking the wing. The plane was fine and we landed normally at Schiphol Airport.
How the above relates to the image I have no idea. Still, enjoy.
Home after 7 days in Florida and just exhausted from a late night arrival and heading to work. I had this image ready to go so I’m going with it after spending 2 plus hours trying to edit a bunch of images and nothing really working for me. While nothing spectacular I do like the clouds!
These were shot for someone who can’t come and see it in person. Lots of angles. Lots of views. Sometimes you shoot not for artistic or how cool the image will be. Sometimes you shoot because you have a camera and can for others.
I just happened to find these two pictures while working on something else and figured why not. Shot on Canon SD1400 precursor to the mighty Canon 330HS. Yes, I really was over France at the time. You can see the French writing on the wings as it was an Air France flight.
It seems I am on a plane at least once a month. Sometimes by my own choice other times for work. I used to be a nervous flyer after a couple of incidents involving storms and running out of fuel. Then one day I didn’t care anymore because I realized that I had zero control over the outcome of the flight anyways so why bother. I could ramble about statistics of flight versus other modes of travel but the reality is you have no control so why worry. Now you will find me reading my iPad through the worst turbulence or snoozing if the air is smooth. Oh, I guess you can tell where one picture was taken where the arrival was. No, I hate Vegas.
For the record these were all shot on a cheap Canon ELPH 330HS. Not bad if I say so myself.
