This is another from the beach on the Gulf of Thailand. I was walking along and only had my phone with me. Knowing that it shot RAW I took a chance and snapped the photo. I published it on Instagram but wanted to give it a try on a higher resolution and with running it through my normal workflow.
The phone in question is a OnePlus 2 that I use when I travel. It’s dual sims so I just pop my US sim in one slot and my Thai sim in another. This way I am reachable by pretty much anyone and only carry one phone.
The OnePlus 2 just got RAW support in Camera FV5 earlier this year with a system update and I have had success with images on my Nexus 6P with the same program so why not give it a try.
There was a lot noise in this image. So I spent a significant amount of time removing it and cleaning it up as best as I could. There was no way I could remove all of it but I did the best I could. I dodged the shadows to black to hide noise there as much as possible. I did mask in a layer so I didn’t lose texture in the sky when I masked in the denoise layer but in the end I’m rather happy with how it came out considering the camera.
