Little Bit Blue

I return to the Fort Myers, Florida well for this image. I have actually published a similar image but without the boat in it. Just by moving the camera a bit to the left you get two images for the price of one!

I have like 3 versions of this shot and this was the lucky one. I was on a floating dock and with the boat moving and fairly long exposure times most were blurred. Once I started to pixel peep I found that this shot was 90% perfect so I went and edited it.

There is a lot of masking going on here. I really wanted the sky to come alive and bring out the textures in the boat and bridge. So I applied several masks to get each area to look the way I wanted. Once I had that I still wanted to increase the saturation in the setting sun in the left hand side to balance out the bright blue on the right so masked all that in. During this I had to make sure I didn’t mask the bridge lights because they became molten gold which blew out everything else.

I like the photo of the fishing boat on the Caloosahatchee River. The night with the lights from the bridge, reflect such a wonder blue reflection on the water. It is nice that you take so many photos when you are shooting in an area. The selection of photos this week have been keepers. I have a copy for later viewing. I have enjoyed.
