Wheel In An Angry Sky

I return from the Portland, Oregon images and back to the National Harbor, Maryland images. Just to take a break from Portland stuff since I’m sitting on a healthy back catalogue from my various adventures.

I kinda lost the plot with this image. I was layering filters on top of filters with more filters and realized I lost the purpose of the image. So I reset and tried again from my base image in Photoshop. An important tip on why working with layers is a good thing!

After my moment of I don’t know where I am going with the image I just took a layer with some color saturation and masked that in. Then I went into Camera Raw and removed the noise from the cloud somewhat. I didn’t want to lose all of it because the cloud is cool and the visual weight of the image. After that I masked that in and said done. So about 15 layers of useless work later I’m happy – enough.

I like the photo. I just wish the wheel was not blocking that beautiful sky. The sky is majestic with the clouds and the sun setting for the night. I like the happening in the sky in the morning but in the evening is truly beautiful, most nights, with the colors in the sky. The clouds, this time was the player. I enjoyed.
