Heading To Shore

This is another one from the National Harbor. I was on a path that leads to somewhere but I stopped when it was going to go through a tunnel under the freeway. My objective was the National Harbor area and not wandering down paths. It just happened that when I snapped this the dragon boat was heading in toward the shore area and I thought it looked cool in the image. I have the same image without it but I think it adds some drama balances things nicely.

When I went to edit this one I debated on going through a bunch of filters and other junk but I didn’t. It just looked cool almost straight out of the camera and I wasn’t going to mess with it. Sometimes an image just says don’t touch so I listened to it. Just a slight curves adjustment and some minor dodging and burning. The only filter I masked in was adding some dehaze and clarity to the sky only just to give the clouds some texture. I did add an unsharpened mask this time to give the colors some separation.

Full resolution.

I like the photo and saved a copy. The Dragon Boat? I must presume this is a Dragon paddle boat? How fun. I like paddle boats. You had a perfect day to take photos. The sun is so bright in the sky it cast its reflection in the water. Your photos of the Harbor are glimpses of the Harbor I never saw when we visited. You wonder and snap the essence of Baltimore National Harbor for all to enjoy when they visit Induced Chaos Photography site. I enjoyed.
