I took my new Sony A7R out for a stroll on the National Mall in Washington DC. I was walking and saw the shot below and stopped and snapped a few frames. I forget the name of the pond that this is but the big obelisk is the Washington Monument named after our first President, George Washington. It was under construction over the last few years due to damage from the very rare earthquake that happened here. So all the scaffolding was finally off it.
The funny thing is I am doing a photowalk this weekend with Trey Ratcliff and his walk will stop at this site. It will be later in the day so I might shoot it under different light and be curious to see what he turns up out of the image. I also hold a ticket to his after party which will be cool to hear him talk.
