When I used to play video games we used to joke about the ball of fire in the sky. Something most video gamers fear as we would never see it. This image just reminded me of it hence the name.
It’s funny that while I was watching the HDR videos one of the things that kept cropping up was being able to get multiple images out of similar shots. It just comes down to light and angle. It turned out to be true because I have already showed similar images to this but because of camera placement and the light changing they are all unique.
One of the things that bothered me about this image was the lens flare and I debated on fixing it. Then I went screw it. It’s going to take me hours to get it right versus something that doesn’t detract from it and gives the image some realism because if you were looking at it with sunglasses on you would get flare (true because I had mine on).
The other issue with the image was I wanted the texture of the path to be more prominent then it was. So I just did two versions of the image, one with a sky I liked and one with the sidewalk I liked and with the magic of Photoshop I got what I wanted.
So give a little on one thing and take a little on another thing and you get an image that you can live with.
