No not the Disney movie. Not that I would complain if I did own rights to it and was rolling in money from its production. Sadly, I just produce images of frozen rivers and not money making animated feature films. Maybe one day if I learn how to edit video.
These images (mostly) are of the Potomac River looking into Washington DC or Reagan National Airport. There is a marina that I pass when I have to go to an office near there. I finished my early morning meeting and I had a choice of sitting in traffic or wandering around in the freezing weather (literally) and taking some pictures. Since these are being published you can figure out which option I selected.
These were all shot with my Sony RX100M3. I am noticing some issues with the lens that the more you step it down the less sharp it is. These were all shot at the smallest apertures either f11 or f10. You can see the lens drop off rapidly. This is me expecting more from the sensor then I should. I’m used to micro four thirds or a crop sensor and not a compact camera with a 1″ sensor in it. While it is the highest mega pixel camera I own, it doesn’t mean its the sharpest simply because of sensor size.
I am pleased with the shots and how they turned out regardless. I did some Photoshopping to get the images to where I thought the balance of detail and sharpness was acceptable.
Hope you enjoy the frozen Potomac.
