Atlantic City: Street View

I had the opportunity to go to Atlantic City for a few days just to do some shooting. I had not been there in a long time, at least 8 years maybe longer. I remember going to Atlantic City as either at 19 or 20 and sneaking into the casino and bars on a fake ID and having a good time. It seemed a different world from the one I had known and I had a good time and made a few trips up there. I spent my 21st birthday there from what I remember. First worst legal hangover of my life. So when the time came up I decided on going up and seeing what had changed. Time has not been kind to Atlantic City. Half the casinos are closed from lack of business, those that are still open are just shadows of themselves. I go to Vegas every year and even the most rundown casino is worlds apart from what Atlantic City has. As I walked the streets that the game Monopoly is based on, these images came from Pacific Ave, one of the most expensive in the game, I think you could really buy the properties for Monopoly money at this point. I would normally say enjoy but its kinda sad.

  1. Nice photos. Sad to see towns decline but the economy cuts everyone’s budge to keep things grand. Still has charm. We liked your shots.
