Bethesda – Final

Wrapping up my little tour of Bethesda around my office building. I wanted to get away from the glitz and glamour that is the main business and shopping areas and move to the older historic Bethesda.  No less nice, but not all modernized yet.  These images were shot on my Fuji X100s and my Sigma DP1.  The images shot on the Fuji have some perspective issues that were mostly fixed in post but there are still some “anomalies” because the idiot photographer forgot to reset the camera from extension mode to normal camera had a technical issue.  Hope you enjoy the view.  I would say it may inspire you to come and visit but to be honest go to any office district and you can get the same effect.  Enjoy.

You can see my building in the reflection.

I always like a good waxing while getting my nails done and maybe 500 meters from my building I have my go to spot.  Please don’t ever believe that.

There are small parks tucked away between buildings if you look.  Not unusual to see officer workers hiding out enjoying the weather on nice days.

Gang Sign!  Really it is.

The weird perspective skew was going on here.  This is a piece of artwork made of of bathroom and kitchen fixtures for a local reseller.  I wish I captured it better and it might be reshot when I have some time and the camera working correctly.

I have a thing for cranes.  It’s been discussed.

Is any neighborhood in the world complete without a Starbucks.  I have been in a lot of countries and I have yet not to see a Starbuck or a McDonalds.

Like Starbucks and McDonalds there is always the Chinese carry-out/delivery place in every neighborhood too.

Ancient relic of the past.  I apparently work in a gang controlled area!

Just for confirmation, the Bethesda Theater which is a jazz supper club.  Heard it was really nice inside.  I hate jazz so I will not be going in unless they hire me to do a shoot then I love jazz!  It was also shot on the Sigma DP1.

Not sure if this fits but it was shot in Bethesda so it counts.  I really liked how the shadow and the brick color bet.  The Sigma DP1 excels at this type of work.  It’s a funky camera because of the sensor but its fun to shoot with at times.
