The Everyday – Part I

I get that this isn’t going to be in everyone’s tastes but I wanted to shoot the stuff I was seeing every day while I was out and about or staying at the hotel I was at. A few different cameras were used to do this and it was about tones and shadows. In part 2 I’ll switch it to color. I think sometimes as photographers that we look for the cool, the different, the whatever but if you just look around you can see some interesting stuff to shoot within 3 feet. Sure they aren’t awe inspiring images but they can be technically good images with lots of depth to them. This was more of a challenge to myself than anything else.

  1. The lamp wasn’t that dark and it was a well lit hallway. It was the way I shot the image. I made sure the camera only captured the light I wanted it to then a few minutes making the shadows even darker while editing.

  2. Your photos are good. In each you notice something you really never give a thought to. If this was a hotel, it took lots of work to set up the table and chairs just right. The one that I would find inadequate for a hotel room, the lamp and the furniture. Would hate to write/read by that inadequate lamp because the light did not get near the furniture to read. It was very dark.
