I like one of these a lot and one not so much. One of the issues with this building is that they light the dome at night but the rest of the building is relatively dark in comparison. When shooting with the Canon 330 it makes it difficult at times depending on your metering option. To get the most out of the camera you have to use spot meter. Well on the landscape shot of the entire building and the Christmas Tree the dome was the brightest. I had to drop the exposure a bit on that but considering you can only shoot in jpeg it means I’m limited a bit on what I can do. I still like the image but its not fantastic with its technical flaws.
This image is the one that really shows the power of a point and shoot camera when used in the right conditions. Just spot metering on the dome and the rest exposed correctly. Some cropping to remove some lights I didn’t want in the image and changing the focal point a bit and magic.
