You really haven’t lived until you have taken a motorbike taxi in Asia.  I was terrified of them at first and never took them either walking or jumping on what is locally known to foreigners as Baht Bus’s which are just pickups with a cover over them and two bench seats.  Then one day I needed to go some place fast so I had no choice but to jump a motorbike taxi and I have been hooked ever since.  They aren’t all great as I have had experiences with a driver that hit someone else while I was on the back, an extremely drunk driver one night (I could smell the whiskey on his breath AFTER we took off), and drivers getting lost.  For the most part they are fast and efficient way to get around and they are also used to run errands by the locals.  I also use them as mobile photo platforms when I can and this is the resulting shot of me riding on the back of one.  While not the most technically proficient photo on this planet, its a rather interesting one.
