Big City Lights

More night shooting fun!  I wanted this shot to be a bit more detailed so I opened the lens up to f/5.6 instead of the stopped down apertures I was using and still kicked off a 30 second exposure.  It was a bit blown out looking almost like daylight.  So using Lightroom 5 I went to work dodging the skyline and then sharpening the crane to give it more details along with bumping the contrast and using the histogram to keep things in perspective.  Exported it into SilverFX and then went to work there and adding selective control points to darken the sky a bit more and to enhance the light.  I gave it a slight sepia tone because I saw someone else do it and I liked the effect verses the blue/silver I have been using.  In the end, I am as pleased as punch with the result.  The black and white really makes the light in the image work and that was the intended effect.
